"Geek-with-a-Cause" operates in high schools as a student-run organization.

A tech themed carnival hosted by each school on National Geek-with-a-Cause day. Fun tech relate activities will be provided such as video game competitions, including video games that require physical motion, social or interactive music and dance performance, and other high tech activities such as laser tag. This carnival will be used to fund things such as laptops and other IT equipment for students attending local non-profit teen enrichment technology programs or community access centers. Activities include:

Recycling Devices for Charity

A tech donations drive by schools of old workable IT equipment and software (computers, iPads, etc.) to equip economically disadvantage local families or communities.


  • Donations from students may count as service hours.
  • Donations from individuals or industry are tax deductible.

For an entire week culminating with tech day a school will have bins out so that high students and others can donate to less fortunate individuals in the local community. Students who donate working electronics will be able to receive community service hours. Geeks will help by refurbishing the donated devices.




Barracuda-Tankx

An event based on ABC's Barracuda-Tankx show where teens have the opportunity to present their innovative tech ideas to tech entrepreneur.
